Daily Poll: What should the NDP do with Site C?
The NDP campaigned on a promise to send the controversial Site C dam to a review and this week, the new government made good on that promise.
Energy Minister Michelle Mungall announced Wednesday that the $8.8-billion project would undergo an independent review by the B.C. Utilities Commission. That review is slated to begin Aug. 9, with a preliminary report expected Sept. 20 and a final report by Nov. 1.

“Rather than questioning whether or not the project should have started, the review will focus on looking forward,” Mungall said of the Peace River project in northeast B.C.
The review is expected to examine three possible outcomes: cancel the project, pause it and keep it open to future construction, or continue forward with the current plans.
